P.E. Bowling Unit in grades K - 2

Students in grades K-2 have started a bowling unit. Spare Time Bowling Center in Colchester has loaned us six bowling lanes, pins and balls. The students will be bowling for 2 weeks. We will be playing bowling bingo and learning to keep score.

Fitness Gram

The Fitness Gram is a youth fitness reporting system that is given to grades 3-8.
Students are given 7 subtests during their physical education class. A fitness gram report will be sent home with their first trimester report cards.

Shoulder Stretch Test



The shoulder stretch measures flexibility.

Sit and reach test

The sit and reach measures flexibility.

Flexed arm hang test



The flexed arm hang measures upper body strength and endurance.

Push-up test


The push-up test measures upper body strength and endurance.

Trunk lift test



The trunk lift measures trunk extensor strength and flexibility.

Curl-Up Test


The curl-up test measures abdominal strength and endurance.

Pacer Test



The pacer test measures aerobic capacity.

Welcome To Our Newest Physical Education Teacher


Ms. Andrews moved to St. Albans, Vermont a few years ago to escape the heat of the Carolina's. She grew up in Liberty Pennsylvania and attended college at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Andrews teaches grades K-2 which is a big change from her previous position in a middle school. Ms. Andrews was hired as a half-time teacher so you can find her in the small gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays and half the day on Fridays.

Mrs. Jarvis grew up in St.Albans where she attended City School and BFA. She moved away to attend college at Springfield College then returned to make St. Albans her home.
Mrs. Jarvis spent several years in the small gym teaching grades K-2. She moved into the big gym a few years ago and now works with grades 3-8.

City School in 1992. He grew up in Fairfield
and currently resides in Shelden. He is a BFA graduate and attended Johnson State
College. You can find Mr. Branon in the big
gym or coaching the BFA football team.

The Physical Education Team


Ms. Wight started teaching at St. Albans City School in 1992. She grew up in Plattsburgh, New York and attended college at SUNY Cortland. Ms. Wight moved to Vermont in 1987 to atttend graduate school at UVM and currently lives in Essex Junction.
Ms. Wight teaches grades K-2, 5-8, and adaptive physical education. You can find her in the small gym, the big gym and in the Fitness Room.
